Heidi Klum Halloween Costume 2008

Every year Heidi Klum gets decked out like nobody's business for Halloween and 2008 was no different; Heidi Klum dressed up as the Hindu goddess Kali and managed to scare the crap out of anyone within a 10 mile radius.

Heidi Klum must've spent hours preparing to go out because you know she didn't put this getup together herself. Perhaps husband Seal pitched in a bit.

Heidi Klum is a beautiful and very sexy woman, but there's no doubt that this Halloween costume is not for the faint of heart.

She's gonna get it for wearing that!

She's a disrespectful cow - how dare she make fun of hindusim, would she like it if someone dressed up as Christ on halloween! I hope this gets taken further, she needs to make an apology to all hindus as she clearly has no brains!

Don't get your panties in a wad. She is dressing up as one of the mythological figures of Hinduism. It would be like coming as Thor or a Burning Bush from the Bible. She is not disrespecting Dharma by coming as one of Hinduism's millions of Gods. Its Halloween and that goddess is scary as fuck. Well done, Heidi.

'Scarey as fuck'- I think this is a disgusting disrespectful statement clearly made by someone as brainless as Heidi Klum. Kali is not a mythological figure, she is a Goddess symbolizing power and strength. Using swear words in the same sentence is highly offensive.

Heidi, your attempt to enjoy attention has turned into a mean mockery of a system of belief. I don't know if you are aware of what this particular divinity means or represents in the Hindu system of beliefs. People in India follow several rituals before donning this representation of Kali. Are you aware of that? if not, then being a public figure , you should have thought about it. Your halloween costume is a cheap shot. If you do not respect people from background, then you are not worth public's adulation.

She is disrespecting with her behavior while dressing up as a goddess. If it was any other religious figure then they would have objected too. She defiantly needs to apologies to all the Hindus, NO MATTER HOW MANY GODS WE HAVE. IT IS NOT JUST A MYTHOLOGICAL FIGURE SHE IS OUR GODDESS THAT WE WORSHIP TO. she is inconsiderate to be doing such a thing in the first place to begin with. She probably don't know ABC of Hinduism anyways.
HEIDI needs to APOLOGIES FOR HURTING PEOPLE'S FEELINGS AND DISRESPECTING OUR HINDU GODDESS.

I think that costume is amazing, and as a religion major that concentrated in Hinduism this is remarkably accurate! Thise who find it insulting are no better then the bible thumping fundamentalists in the south! Go Heidi!

Well, models have no brains....It's not surprising that she wouldn't stop to think about hurting people's sentiments when she's all worked up about dressing for a party..

Don't let anyone here speak for Heidi. She seems like a generally nice person and probably didn't mean to offend anyone. She doesn't seem like the type to make fun of anyone. She probably just thought it was a detailed costume that would stand out. It is both in America. No one on earth has intricate knowledge of every religion known to mankind so if she didn't know it doesn't make her stupid just ingnorant which can be fixed. How do you think you look being hateful to someone you don't even personally know? Seems like more than one person made a lot of assumptions instead of giving a person a chance to explain.

All you people are whats wrong with America these days. Your so appaled by nothing, not every little thing is so taboo. She dressed up in a frickin costume purely for fun. Get a life.

I'm Hindu and I'm not offended. I don't think she's making fun of Goddess Kali at all, well done Heidi.

Hmm.. If some one was to dress like Jesus.. a lot of of people would have been pissed. Halloween is an ancient celtic festival. I really do not know when did religious icons start getting involved in Halloween. I personally do think it s pretty offensive. Kali is not a mythological figure. Ignorance is the biggest disease one can inherit and Heidi has sure inherited it.

I am not a Hindu and I do find it offensive of her to dress like that. Let us see if she will dress like Mother Mary next year.

every halloween store i have ever been to sells jesus costumes in a bag, not to mention popes, nuns, the virgin mary and other christian figures. no one seems to be offended, what makes other religions more sensitive? there is nothing in hindu scripture about not allowing personifications (like in Islam) so she isn't doing anything blasphemous. get over yourselves, stop looking for a reason to complain... or start getting offended when you see a jesus next halloween

Are you kidding me? As a practicing Hindu, I'm personally amused and amazed by this costume. It's well-done beyond belief. Well, except for the fact that Kali isn't depicted as blue. Besides that, it keeps with the mythology and hello, Kali is supposed to be scary. Go to wikipedia and you'll get an idea. People dress up as gods and goddesses all the time for theatrical purposes, don't they? Whatever. I personally think it's awesome she dressed as a Hindu deity. Good for her.

I find Heidi Klum's costume highly offensive. The Hindu community holds its deity's in very high regard and do not trivialize and degrade their importance by dressing up as them and participating in dance or drinking alcohol. People dressing up as Jesus or the Pople for Halloween might be accepted by the Xtian masses, but I assure you, this is highly offensive and unacceptable to the Hindu masses.

I must say, some of you people are pretty ridiculous. It's not even a big deal. Heidi probably thought Kali was one of the sweetest goddesses to protray & i don't blame her. If you take offense to that you need help. it was a great & very unique costume.

Oh please! People have been dressing as Jesus, God, Nuns and Priests for Halloween as long as I can remember and I never hear anyone crying about that. This is yet another example of the problem with religion. People take it too seriously and push their veiws on others.
You pushy religious types are the reason for most of the wars throughout history. Don't push your beliefs and decisions on others. If you find dressing up this way offensive then don't do it but don't expect everyone else in the world to see things the same way you do. P.S. To the person who says models have no brains... Sounds like a classic case of jelousy, maybe you should work on that.

Uhhh tons of people dress as Christ for halloween, it's not a big deal

In spite of her seemingly terrible form, Kali is often considered the kindest and most loving of all the Hindu goddesses, as she is regarded by her devotees as the Mother of the whole Universe. Heidi is not nearly anywhere near close to that by any means. She probably chose a picture of Kali and decided it looked to be evil and scary and yet never understood the true purpose of the swords and severed head. She needs to either apologize or make known that she understood what the purpose was for each and every item that was donned and show she was not being disrespectful.

In my opinion those overly sensitive individuals who are all upset "Need" (as you like to dictate to others what they "Need" to do)to get over it and maybe grow to be more tolerant and understanding. Isn't that what religions are supposed to teach you? Maybe you should use this as an opportunity to grow as a person and cut the rest of us some slack. Do you know everything there is to know about other religions? Are you perfect? How do you know you have never offended someone else? If you did, should it become a national news event? She didn't willfully hurt anyone. Why don't you put your energy into getting upset over something that really matters like peadophiles and murders who are free and looking for their next innocent victims or all the children that are dying from war, starvation and disease while we turn a blind eye and waste our time debating over a halloween costume someone wore.
Look around the world. Do we not have bigger issues to put energy into? I challenge each of you to find something important in the next month to chanell your energy into. Together, if we all start focussing on the topics that really matter, maybe we could make the world a better place. More forgiveness and tollerance and less judgement would be a good start.

Discussing and getting angry because of offending gods.. It's time for mankind to get rid off gods! We'll never progress if we are stuck in any kind of religion! In any case, if those gods really exist, and if so powerful they are.. Do you really think these acts would cause them any harm? I think your gods are more worried about how you people kill each other because of religion than

I don't view it as an insult for Heidi to dress up as Kali. Do you think Kali cares? I don't. And yes, the Dark Mother loves us, and is kind, remember her birth, remember Kali of the creamation grounds. She is multi-faceted, and can be extremely frightening. Take a pill folks. And yes, I honor and worship Kali, and the Kali I know wouldn't be upset. Honestly didn't expect this from the Hindu folks...

Can someone please explain who Kali is and why is she considered a Goddess?????

People cannot dress up like Christ and scare people because HE came to earth in human form and looked just like you and me. HE died on the cross for the sins of the world and rose up victorious. HE is the LORD. Remember JESUS love you very much. And HE does not preach about religion but a strong relationship with GOD which is very important to understand our creator.
