Listen to and watch the video for Hollywood's Not America
If you haven't yet heard of Ferras (or Ferras Alqaisi), it's because you didn't catch his name in passing on American Idol. His life is an interesting one, as his father tricked him after his parents divorce and took him to Amman, Jordan to raise him.
But I digress; Ferras is going to be the next big artist since John Mayer because his lyrics are phenomenal, his look is an acquired taste, and his music is just touching.
He debuted his single on MTV's TRL on March 17, 2008, and now he's here, at LadyThrills, to turn you on.
Check out his video for "Hollywood's Not America," and remember; you saw it here first. This is the "exit" song used for part of American Idol's Season 7 losers. There's a little factoid you can use to impress your friends...

Not sure how turned on I am...
I've never heard a song about a small town girl going to Hollywood to make it big and becoming a centerfold before. It's so uniquely original, I'm blown away. But let's not forget the excellent geography lesson the song embodies. Many children-- both in the States and overseas-- confuse Hollywood and America. I hope this song will finally put that misconception to rest.
